Google Ads Editor Version 2.0 supports Performance Max Campaigns
Google announced on Monday that the new Editor Version 2.0 is now available. This version includes support for Performance Max campaigns, shared audiences, custom actions, and conversion goals. The company has positioned the performance max campaigns at the centre of many of its updates and announcements in recent months. It is important to note that an update that requires you to re-download account data will always prompt that a new version is available.
Why is this important?
Google Ads Editor can be a practical tool for working offline and making bulk edits. The update to the application provides advertisers with more of the Google Ads capabilities they may be used to while helping the tool keep up with some of the recent changes that Google has made.
YouTube introduces new livestream features
YouTube has previewed some of the new features that it will soon be rolling out on its live streaming service, YouTube Live, including updated viewing options, new notifications for when a channel goes live, and the introduction of live stream guests. The latter, being called ‘Go Live Together’, will soon be having its pilot launch where creators will be able to invite guests to their stream through the click of a link. Other new features in the works for YouTube Live are the addition of a full-screen mode for streams and the development of a Q&A feature for viewers.
Why is this important?
With the introduction of all these new features, YouTube is making an effort to build out their content offering on one of the lesser-used sides of the site and will be hoping this can offer more incentive for creators to use YouTube Live as their primary livestream platform, especially due to the monetization options they already have in place. While these new features may already be in place across other platforms, it will be interesting to see whether they are able to give YouTube the edge in their bid to be more competitive in the livestream market.
The Effectiveness of Podcast Advertising
The Guardian has recently released its report on the effectiveness of Podcast Advertising. Throughout the lockdowns, podcasts provided everything from companionship to culture providing a form of communication when we were away from our usual day to day interactions. As a result, Podcasts are growing faster than any other media format. Research has found that listenership has grown by 44% over the last 12 months and podcasts command the highest level of attention compared to any other media channel.
Why is this important?
The growth of podcast listenership means they’re coming into their own as a broadcast medium. But what they’re really good at is delivering an attentive audience - more than any other format. Attention matters because it translates into greater likelihood to take notice of advertisers, recall brand messages and take action.
Campaign of the Week: Female entrepreneurs exhibition in the metaverse
In partnership with Green Rock Media, NatWest has launched a new campaign called “Portraits of Success”, a metaverse gallery showing portraits of female entrepreneurs from UK businesses. Exploring the space as an avatar, guests to the gallery will be able to find out details about the founders and their businesses along with how NatWest advocates them. The gallery can be accessed via browser, mobile and VR headset. Showcasing female entrepreneurs from a selection of different industries, the project aims to be refreshing and inspiring to all who visit this exhibition.
Green Rock is continuing to build on its platform expertise in the emerging technology of the metaverse and is pushing creativity in new tech spaces. Presenting the exhibition in an interactive virtual space extends the reach to so many more people with the project.
